Their story: First saw each other across the room in bible class their Sophmore year at Messiah College. Josh noticed Sarah, sitting in the front in Sweatpants, a bright yellow hoodie and a carheart jacket, next to her friend dressed to the nines; and Sarah wasn't the biggest fan of the loudmouth in the back of the room. They finally met in anatomy and physiology class, both having to retake the class after failing it the first time. Sarah noticed Josh as a familiar face and sat next to him, eventually the two began talking and studying together which transitioned into a friendship that lasted for three years. Josh eventually transferred to a college in Maryland, but continued to visit Sarah at Messiah, each time growing closer and realizing how much she meant to him. Sarah, however, was harder to convince, but the two eventually started dating a year after Josh asked her.
The proposal: one of the first dates the couple went on was in deep creek MD on the 4th of July, watching the fireworks on the top of a black diamond at Wisp Ski Resort. Three years later, they returned to the same place to watch the fireworks on the 4th, this time with a ring in Josh's pocket. Josh took Sarah on a walk to the top of one of the nearby black diamonds to look out over the lake. Sarah's sister was there taking pictures, and as they turned for a picture, Sarah felt Josh drop. Afraid he had fallen backwards down the hill she jumped around to see him down on one knee.
