Aspen Wye River Wedding- Jessica & Paul
I am so lucky. I seriously get the best couples. Paul & Jessica are the most adorable couple in the world and the way he looks at her just makes you want to melt. They got married at my favorite venue in Maryland the Aspen Wye River Conference Center with all their friends and family staying with them for the weekend. Despite the rain it was an absolutely beautiful wedding. Paul's soft side showed when he saw his beautiful wife for the first time.
While Jessica was getting dolled up with her girls, Paul and the guys were getting a professional shave and a hair cut in the game room. Both were enjoying Jessica's favorite (and quite possibly every one in Maryland's favorite food ) Chick Fil a . They were so excited that they were providing food for their wedding that they even sent a card with signatures from all the people that worked there!
It was my second wedding at Wye River in 2016 and the second time it rained. Fortunately, Wye River has a lot of beautifully tree covered areas that you can kind of hide from the rain. The weather made no difference. Jessica, Paul, and their wedding party were up for anything! Because of that we were able to get amazing photos in the pine tree forest by the venue. And of course we played in the rain at night time!
Names: Jessica Bland and Paul Esposito
Wedding date: October 8, 2016
Wedding Venue: Aspen Wye River
How you met: We met working at a hotel in downtown DC in 2010. Paul says he saw me when I came for an interview and he knew I was the one. I wanted to make a good first impression with my boss and wasn't interested in dating a co worker. For six months he would walk by my desk and call me everyday at 2PM to tell me a joke. I finally asked him if he was ever going to ask me out. We went on our first date to the Baltimore Harbour and the rest is history.
Proposal Story: We were living in a small basement apartment with only two small windows. I'm not a morning person and would always get mad at Paul for turning the lights on so bright in the mornings. On a random Wednesday morning after the alarm went off Paul turned on all the lights and walked out of the bedroom into the kitchen. I stormed into the kitchen complaining about leaving the lights on and there he was, out of nowhere, down on one knee! We celebrated afterwards with my favorite meal, mimosas and breakfast, at the bakery we go to on the weekends up the street.
Favorite moment from your wedding: Seeing each other for the first time. We have been together for six years and even with a house, dog, and routine of daily life, we were both surprised with how nervous we were to see each other.
What went in to planning your wedding: We wanted to keep our wedding thoughtful, simple, and representative of what is important to each of us as individuals and a couple. We spent a lot of time thinking of ways to make it a special weekend for our guests and have them feel like they were a part of the celebration as opposed to just attending a wedding.
Where did you go on your honeymoon: Newport Rhode Island.
