Washington DC Engagement Photography - Bonnie & Mark- Maryland Wedding Photographer
Bonnie & Mark wanted their engagement session in DC but didn’t want a traditional session at all the monuments. They wanted something that reflected them and their personalities and their story. So that’s what we did! We started in their neighborhood where we found some killer street art and a shopping cart. I always like to test my couples to see how far I can go with them… When I said how about shopping cart races … and they jumped right in I said score this is going to be a fun day! We also got to spend some time with their pup who when he realized we were leaving took off running! But Mark caught him pretty quickly and we went off on our offbeat DC journey.
Since it was fall they wanted to squeeze in some nature. So we went to Theodore Roosevelt’s Park which happened to be right during golden hour. We hiked around the park, climbed on some trees and rocks and may have gotten just a teeny tiny bit lost . But that’s ok because we got to our next spot just in time !
One of the spots that was a must on their list was the Renwick Gallery. They really wanted to see the Burning Man exhibit. Which was super awesome for photos. We waited out the crowds and were able to get the exhibits to ourselves for about 45 seconds. Enough time to get a few killer shots with the growing mushrooms.
We finished the night in Downtown DC playing with some lights and stopping at the Milk Bar for ice cream and the best milkshake I have ever had. I had so much fun driving around DC with Mark & Bonnie and can’t wait for their wedding in July!
