Frequently Asked Questions

What is your Style?

I am a true documentary photographer in that I look for the moments within the moment. I also love shooting environmental portraits. After all, you picked that venue for a reason and I want to use even the littlest nooks and crannies to create unique portraits.

And then… I love to goof around and sometimes instigate trouble (hello oldest child). There is no limitation to what I will do to get “the” shot. That may mean fun trust activities with your groomsmen, or maybe a little rock climbing… Of course I ask you if it is ok with you first!

All in all, While your going through your photos I want you to get goosebumps, I want to get that one tear to roll down your cheek, I want you to laugh at the crazy dance moves from your reception. More then anything else. I want you to look at your photos and not only see the two but say… wow, that is so us!

How Many Photographers do you work with?

I shoot about 50% of my weddings on my own. If it is in your budget I do recommend adding a second photographer and I have some super fabulous second shooters that I work with. They are just as goofy and fun to work with as I am!

Do we have to do an engagement session?

I include engagement sessions in all of my packages for a bunch of reasons. First and most important it is our way to get to know each other. On your wedding day I want us to feel like we’ve known each other forever. It not only makes you comfortable but also your family and friends. They’ve already seen my work and feel comfortable knowing that you are in good hands.

Second, engagement sessions are always my absolute favorite photos. They are my opportunity to really tell your story. We will spend a good portion of the day together traveling around places that mean something to you. We may hike, cook, play laser tag, or grab a drink. I don’t limit the location or time for your session. I even give you an opportunity to meet me wherever I am traveling. Together we will create a session that is creative and about you.

Do you have back-up equipment?

Absolutely, I come full prepared. I have multiple cameras, lens, batteries, lighting, etc. I am ready for any situation that could possibly come up.

Do you Travel?

All the time! I accept up to 3 Destination Weddings a year. I also offer couples an opportunity to meet me wherever I am traveling in the world for their engagement session or elopements. I frequent many of the US National Parks, Iceland, & Ireland every year. Plus a few extra places! Check my travel schedule and meet me for an Epic Adventure session!

Where have you photographed Weddings?

I have photographed weddings all over the US and the Caribbean Islands. I have also photographed a wedding in Greece & Antarctica. My destination wedding packages include a second day session where we really use the location of your wedding to tell your story.

What is the turnaround for images?

I typically turn weddings around in 4-6 weeks and Engagement sessions in 2-3 weeks. I try to post sneak peeks on Facebook or Instagram within a few days of your wedding!

Do you offer Albums?

Yes, in fact I encourage my couples to get an album. This will ensure that you have a permanent keepsake from your wedding that will tell your love story. My albums all have a 3 year price guarantee which means you have 3 years from the day you sign your contract and the album price will remain the same.  (Average $1000)

How much editing do you do?

Every image I provide you is edited. It is sharpened and given my special color pop to make your images stand out. Otherwise I will do minor editing. I strongly believe in real color and crisp black and white images vs adding color tint to your photos. Tinted photos tend to date your photos and I want your photos to look timeless.

Can I give you a list of specific shots I want?

Yes, I will give you a very detailed checklist to fill out. This will help me to make sure I get all the must have family & friend photos.

Can we print the images ourselves?

Yes! You will be able to download all the images directly from the website I send you. I recommend using .
