Green Meadow Farms Spring Wedding - Frederick Maryland Wedding Photographer
They say in Maryland if you wait 10 minutes the weather will change. Well, that couldn’t have been any more true than for Faith and Danny’s Wedding. We had sun. rain, snow, sleet, hail, crazy wind, clouds, and then an absolutely beautiful sunset. All of that crazy weather didn’t affect their wedding day even in the slightest. Well except for a few Marilynn Monroe moments from the bridesmaids :)
If you’ve seen my work you know I love documentary style photography. To truly get documentary style wedding photos you need some sort of chaos (ok, chaos isn’t exactly the word that I should use… let’s call them unplanned or unexpected moments) on your wedding day. Yes, I know that sounds horrible because on a wedding day everything should go according to plan and stay on time yada… yada… yada. When you have a perfectly planned, perfectly executed day then you get those stereotypical wedding photos which are beautiful. When you have a just a little splash of the unexpected you have REAL Moments and that was exactly what Faith & Danny’s wedding day had.
Faith & Danny actually got married in June 2020. Originally Faith called me in February 2020 and was excited about pulling together her wedding in a month and a half. We were all about ready for their original date on 3-26-20 when… well, I don’t need to tell you what happened in 2020 we all lived through that shit. So, with a bun in the oven (also know as Dakota ) they decided to elope at Assateague National Park. We got up at the butt crack of dawn (literally I met them at 3am) and they had the most stunning sunrise ceremony on the beach with wild horses that maybe got a little too close for Faith’s comfort… (2 Years later you’ll notice horses and wild animals still are really attracted to these two!
Let’s fast forward 2 years to 3-26. The date is very special for the two of them. It was the day that they met and their lives and family together. Faith and Danny have 5 kids… including 1 set of twins. These kids are full of energy and fun (and I think one of the twins might have magical powers I swear I watched him disappear and reappear from inside to outside in a matter of seconds). What I loved most about their wedding was how their family told the story of their wedding day. Because that is exactly what they are a big beautiful family full of energy and love. There is truly no better way to describe them. So, without further ado, enjoy reliving Faith and Danny and their families amazing wedding day!
We did a first look with both Faith and her dad and Faith and her first born son. Her son had picked daffodils he had prepared to give her. We weren’t sure what reaction we we get from him since he was “grown up”. But just like with him mom his emotions took over. For Danny and Faith they opted for a first touch. A quiet moment between the two of them.
Right before the ceremony there was a quick change to the weather and all a sudden the it started sleeting. We were in the middle of wedding party portraits and decided to just keep going because… well, what the hell…
I asked Faith & Danny what their favorite part of their wedding was and here is what Faith told me :
I really loved getting ready with all of my bridesmaids & Danny’s father daughter dance with Logan. The most emotional part of the day was her sister Paige’s speech.
And Danny:
Hanging out with my groomsmen, dancing, and the way it felt when they entered the reception.
The ceremony took place in a beautiful barn at Green Meadows Farm. While the wind whipped around on the outside everyone on the inside stayed pretty warm while they witnessed Faith & Danny bringing their family together. Even the barn cat took interest in their ceremony tapping the videographer on his shoulders to make sure he was getting the right shot.
The coolest part about Green Meadows Farms is that they are a petting farm and boy do they have a selection of animals to meet. I learned during their elopement that while Faith LOVES animals… she doesn’t necessarily love them near her face… Animals however love to be in Faith’s face. We played with a giant cow, bison, horse, and even a kangaroo. The Bison may have stole the show… Not only trying to slip Faith a little tongue but also eyeing down Danny at the same time… Needless to say it was hard not to crack up laughing behind the camera… especially when the horse started to nibble on Danny’s shoulder…
Green Meadows Farms has a stunning barn interior for a reception. It’s a big open space with lots of room for dancing. Sarah from Sleeping Bee Designs really took the venue to the next level. This was just a really fun party. There were so many unexpected moments that really helped tell their story and kept me fully entertained throughout the night.
A big thank you to all of the amazing vendors that worked together to make Faith & Danny’s Wedding Day as epic as it was !
