Maryland High School Senior Planning Guide
Congratulations on your senior year!
Planning a high school senior photography photoshoot can be a fun and memorable experience.
Here's a guide to help you make the most of your photoshoot:
Choose a Theme or Style
Decide on a theme or style for your photoshoot. Whether it's something classic, casual, formal, or even based on your hobbies and interests, having a theme can help guide your outfit choices, location, and poses.
Select the Location
Choose a location that complements your chosen theme or reflects your personality. It could be your school campus, a park, an urban setting, a beach, a favorite spot in the city, or even a family property.
Plan Outfits
Pick a variety of outfits that align with your theme and location. Include options for different styles, from casual to formal. Make sure your outfits are comfortable and make you feel confident. Avoid loud patterns and logos that can distract from your face.
Hair and Makeup
Consider getting your hair and makeup professionally done to enhance your look for the photoshoot. Keep in mind that your makeup should enhance your natural features and not be too heavy.
Props and Accessories
If you have any props or accessories that are meaningful to you, bring them along. This could include musical instruments, sports equipment, books, or anything that represents your interests.
Timing
The best times for outdoor photoshoots are during the "golden hours," which are the hours shortly after sunrise and before sunset. The lighting during these times is soft and flattering.
Poses and Expressions
Research poses and expressions that you like and feel comfortable with. Your photographer can also guide you in this aspect. Include a mix of close-ups and full-body shots. Candid shots can also capture genuine moments.
Bring a Friend or Family Member
Having a friend or family member with you can help you relax and feel more at ease during the photoshoot. They can provide moral support and help with outfit changes or fixing hair and makeup.
Communicate with the Photographer
Discuss your ideas, preferences, and any specific shots you want with your photographer before the photoshoot. This ensures that you're both on the same page and helps the photographer capture the images you have in mind.
Have Fun
Remember that this photoshoot is a celebration of your achievements. Enjoy the experience and let your personality shine through. Natural smiles and genuine expressions make for the best photos.
